“Scoop” (Atco 730063-11“) consists of 25 bits and
pieces of Pete Townshend’s musical life. and it is
required material for all Townshend and Who
fans.

There are demos, unusual songs. early raw
versions of tunes, rejects. music that got 1efl out of
albums. and private recordings. It makes for
fascinating listening for anyone even mildly in-
terested in The Who or Townshend.

There are early versions of "Squeezebox" and
“Behind Blue Eyes" and “Magic Bus" and “Love
Reign O'cr Me" as well as tunes from
Townshcnd’s “Tommy" and "My Generation"
eras with outtakes from ”Face Dances" and
"Quadrephenia.’

There is a great deal of quality music here
selected by Townshend to illustrate his creativity.
It is a rewarding and interesting album sure to

please his legion of fans.
