1966 – The Who play the Jigsaw Club in Manchester

1966 – The Who are shown playing “I Can’t Explain” and “Daddy Rolling Stone” (recorded the previous August) on the last episode of the U.S. show Shindig

1966 – Disc magazine reports that Pete says The Who are dropping the Pop Art look in an article called “Who Are Growing Up Fast.” And, as usual, growing boys need new clothes.

1968 – The Who play at the Silver Blades Ice Rink in Bristol. Twelve months before The Who had sold out the Locarno Ballroom next door. By this time, however, their British popularity has sunk so low that the much smaller ice rink is only two-thirds full.

1972 – Billboard magazine carries a photo of The Who receiving their gold discs for Tommy

1980 – Pete attends a Clash concert at Brighton Top Rank and is invited onstage by Joe Strummer. Pete plays with them for a few songs and an encore of “Louie Louie.”

2000 – Roger Daltrey performs with the British Rock Symphony in a private concert at theDobson Arena in Vail, Colorado as part of the Vail 2000 Sports International. Billy Preston also performs and SimonTownshend plays lead guitar.
